Reduce the amount of paper work you keep in the home

10 Easy Steps To Reduce Your Piles of Paper correspondence

Do you feel that you have a never-ending pile of paper work? Such as
Junk mail,
Payment confirmations,
Bill statements,
Family correspondences,

Try these easy steps to reduce the paperwork.
1. Internet banking
Sign up to make payments online. When companies send you statements opt to paying these on line. Once these statements are paid they can be easily filed away in the knowledge that you have paid them.

2. E-mails
Open incoming mail and discard if not needed, you need to be very strict with your-self as to what you are going to keep and what you will discard. To help you decide what to keep you can follow this.

What will I need this for?
Will this information help me in any way?
Do I need to reply to this, if so why.
When will I reply to this?
Do I need to keep this after I reply to it?

For all the questions you answered NO to discard them
For all the questions you answered YES to keep them in a file for further attention.

3.File It.
Find a filing cabinet and divide all your papers into file types.
Ie
Work
Home
Family
Only File the papers that you interned to keep some of the reason's you may need to keep curtain papers are.

Insurance,
Birth, marriage, death certificates
For further investigation or action.

5. Evaluate what Subscriptions you have signed up for.

Do you pay for multiple magazine and news subscriptions that you never get around to reading? Only keep the subscriptions you read on a regular basis. Once you have finished reading them get rid of them

6. Create a place where you will keep

Stamps,
Pens,
Envelopes,
Paper,
Keeping all of the supplies together means you will be able to find them more easily when they are needed.

7. Have a Message system.

Create a new message taking system. Have one place in your home where a pencil and a notepad are always available.
Post messages in the same place every time so other family members know where to look for their messages. Keep your address book near the phone.

8. Cut the coupons.
Do you have a drawer full of unused expired coupons? It can be great to cut coupons and save money. But if you cut them, use them. Keep the coupons in a regular spot so that they can be easily accessed for a trip to the grocery store.

9. Regulate collections regularly.
Update your files, tossing outdated information yearly. Get rid of items you do not need to create room for the next year's flood of paperwork.

10. Get rid of receipt mania.
Receipts kept for tax purposes can be filed under the appropriate heading. For those people who like to track all of their expenses, create a receipt "dropping point" that will temporarily hold the receipts until your weekly session of adding and evaluating them.
The key to cutting back on paper problems in your home is to reduce the incoming paper that you keep.

Remember
When you don't need it, get rid of it.
When you need to keep it, file it
