ADHD Through the eyes of a child
Overcoming Adversity to Succeed
.... .... .... .... .... ....

Listed below are some ways children have described their ADHD

WHEN I AM WOUND UP I CAN
SOMETIMES REACT LIKE A BULL IN A CHINA SHOP

HAVING ADHD MAKES ME EASILY ANGRY AND UPSET

I HAVE A SHORT FUSE

SOMETIMES I AM GRUMPY AND FEEL LIKE A MONSTER

RITALIN IS A TOOL NOT A MAGIC WAND THAT I CAN PULL OUT OF A HAT

Sometimes I am up very early in the morning

This has been sent to me by the Mum of Emma, a 9 year old girl. She wants to share her comments with you. My 9 year-old daughter Emma told me, when I asked her what it felt like inside her head when she was not taking her medication - it felt like someone took her, and just dropped her in the middle of the street, and she could not figure out how to even begin to find her way home; she felt completely lost.
