Day 1: Procedures and issues for visiting parents
Day 2: Understand and learn the management techniques used within the family home

Train to become a facilitator of workshops for Parents

Topic: Delivering the ADHD & challenging children Family management programme

Learning outcomes for Candidates:

  • Develop a clear understanding of the method and structures that go to produce a productive parent workshop
  • Gain the knowledge and understanding of working with groups of parents and the diversity that this can bring
  • Implement the same management techniques that will be taught to parents. (This will give them first hand experience of how the techniques work and how they can be implemented with in the family environment)
  • Possess a clear understanding of the different learning styles that people have, they will be able to adapt their teaching to accommodate these learning styles

Topic: Teaching children with ADHD or Challenging Behaviours

Duration: 2-day workshop

Day 1:

  • What ADHD stands for
  • How to help students in the classroom
  • Homework
  • Language we use with pupils and students

Day 2:

  • Using clear (not fuzzy) language
  • Social skills
  • Raising self-esteem

Topic: Understanding Challenging Behaviours

  • The day-to-day language that can lead to misunderstandings
  • Looking at the way we give instructions
  • Using precise and clear statements
  • Helping people to be responsible for their own actions through choice and consequences
